Real Madrid Star, Cristiano Ronaldo reacted angrily to the club's decision to take off Mesut Ozil Arsenal at the end of the transfer window yesterday.
German 24-year-old midfielder was released for 50 million euros. Los Blancos option was taken after their successful transfer lock Gareth Bale of Tottenham called for 100 million euros. But it was not acceptable to Ronaldo.
"Ozil's departure is very bad news for me. Most players he knew my movements in front of the opposing goal. Ozil I hate to see go," said the Portugal captain was quoted as saying by Spanish daily AS.
Ronaldo deserve upset because its performance can be affected by the absence of Ozil. Statistics show if last season alone Ozil off 20 assists to Ronaldo - twice that of Angel Di Maria and Karim Benzema.
Ozil also become one of the most consistent performers in Europe in the last five seasons - packing 57 goals and 163 assists in 302 games total since August 2008. Also in the club level, he also launched 72 assists in the last five seasons - more than any player in the top five European leagues.
